Hi. We have a wonderful neutered pot bellied pig. His name is Cassidy. I have been searching for a sanctuary to place him as we are in the process of losing our farm. I cannot give him to an individual because I don’t want him slaughtered. He deserves a good life. I am a vegan and see no reason to kill an animal. We love him . Do you see having g any space for him? He is big about 180 and is three years old. He does have his tusks. We got him when he was two weeks old . The lady we got him from was suppose to keep him for six weeks but she decided she didn’t want to so we got him then. He likes music. I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to him. I’m just trying to find a soft loving place for him to land. He stays out in the barn in a big stall with a heat lamp.
We are vegan too, and of course love all pigs! So sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately, we are overwhelmed with requests for help and are at capacity right now. Any way you could create a situation for him when you move where he could be indoor/outdoor? It sounds like he is well loved, and best case scenario, could stay with you. Pigs that have been with a family generally have a very hard time adjusting to sanctuary life where they have a lot of other pigs to deal with all at once and much less individual attention. Happy to help with advise on trimming hooves/tusks, etc. and anything else we can help with if you need.
