Hurricane baby Silas! You may remember him from the very beginning. Silas, Eli and Ezra all went straight from North Carolina to the University of Tennessee for further diagnostics and treatment. Silas had a small bulge on his tummy, indicative of a hernia. After some scans, it was determined that Silas had an infection in his penile sheath. Several of the babies had infections, on their bellies and skin. Open wounds and injured legs from breaking out of the factory farm and then swimming in contaminated water full of debris to high ground. While Sila's infection was very painful, and required flushing, cleaning and treating. He has chosen to accept his new life here at the sanctuary though, and we hope memories of his past life fade away quickly!
