Memphis and her family were pulled from the Memphis Animal Services Shelter in Tennessee. They were captured as strays, and were not used to people. Memphis, Martin Luther, Coretta Scott and baby King were clearly a family. King was still nursing on his momma, Coretta, when they arrived. And about a week after we got them settled into quarantine...Memphis surprised us with 7 more babies- Anita, Buddha, Corrigan, Dalai, Ghandi, Jane and Nelson. All named after influential activists that worked for peace and love. We are the only sanctuary in Tennessee and several surrounding states that has permission from the state veterinarian to rescue and house feral pigs. So without our help, they would certainly all have been euthanized at the shelter.
