Our feral family: Momma Memphis, Martin Luther, Coretta Scott, King and the surprise babies- Anita, Buddha, Corrigan, Dalai, Ghandi, Jane and Nelson were all rescued from the animal shelter in Memphis, TN. All named after influential activists that worked for peace and love. We are the only sanctuary in Tennessee and several surrounding states that has permission from the state veterinarian to rescue and house feral pigs. So without our help, they would all have been euthanized at the shelter. We originally committed to rescuing the 4 pigs, but unbeknownst to us, Miss Memphis was incubating 7 little ones in her belly. Shortly after they arrived, while still in quarantine, these little ones were born. We've named them after activists that work for peace! Buddha is a little boy, one of two babies born an orangey color with black spots. His right ear has a black spot.
